This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, hours Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources in an efficient data warehouse and designing solutions for line of business units.  The Business Intelligence Developer will build dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI and other tools. The developer will also design and develop self-reporting solutions for the line of business. This position is expected to proactively identify meaningful data, metrics and gaps to improve credit union operations, member service and regulatory/policy compliance.  Ideal candidates for this position are adept at seeing beyond the initial request and exploring the opportunities and risks beyond what is being directly requested while delivering on deadlines. This position will be required to make recommendations to staff, including executive management, defend and explain complex technical information concisely and completely in a way that supports organizational decision makers. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Write/Modify/Troubleshoot SQL code to develop data queries per end-user specifications
  • Review Performance and security of SQL systems to ensure optimal performance and integrity
  • Design and implement scalable architecture for self-service reporting solutions
  • Create dashboards for the line of business using Power BI
  • Meet with internal line of business users to gather business requirements
  • Oversee stability, performance and integrity of Enterprise data warehouse
  • Adhere to corporate standards, policies and procedures
  • Generate and maintain data dictionary and ensure enterprise data integrity and alignment
  • Champion data integrity, consistency and clarity throughout the organization
  • Independently coordinate with vendors and business units to achieve desired results
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement within credit union processes, business intelligence practices and future and emerging technologies that benefit the credit union and its members.
  • Write short procedures including but not limited to ETL Processing, Report Development, Business Requirement Definitions
  • Resolve end user reporting problems through collaboration with IT and line of businesses
  • Responsible for related duties as required or assigned
  • Serve as senior position of the business intelligence division developing repeatable and complete documentation of reporting processes, data sets and data architecture, accepting responsibility for championing organizational objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

Education/Certification:        

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience

Required Knowledge:

  • 2 years Data Warehousing utilizing SSAS or other OLAP toolset
  • Excel- strong Excel skill, including pivots; VBA a plus, but not required
  • Outlook- ability to schedule appointments, check conflicts, etc.


Experience Required:

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.  
  • 2 to 5 years Transact  SQL experience
  • 2 years of experience with T-SQL or other report writing language required
  • Previous experience overseeing and managing data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or similar
  • 2 – 5 years’ Experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, with a proven track record of optimizing data workflows and ensuring seamless data integration.


Skills/Abilities:

  • Skilled in data architecture design, implementation, and optimization, with a comprehensive understanding of database management, data modeling, and system integration to support robust and scalable data solutions. Problem solving, analytical and communication skills required
  • Proven ability to gain deep business insight and make recommendations
  • Proven ability to listen to the needs of different groups and develop amicable relationship with a wide range of personalities at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to diplomatically and professionally communicate with all members of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to convey information clearly, accurately, concisely and timely in consideration of audience and medium
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Presentation skills
