
Bartender
Job Description Summary
The Bartender is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the social venues of the hotel. The bartender sets-up, services, and breaks-down the bar area ensuring a high level of quality, consistency and service.Job Description

Work Environment
- Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.
- Majority of work takes place indoors.
- Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. kitchens, freezers.

Expected Hours of Work
- Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.
- Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).
- Ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required.

Education and Experience
- Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar.
- Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:
- Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.
- Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
- Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, utensils are properly set up in accordance with quality standards.
- Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift.
- Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. system.
- Clean and reset bartop and tables immediately after guests depart.
- Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
- Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas.
- Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
- Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.
