Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Related Field (required) OR
  • 2 years related experience in Referral Processing, Insurance Authorization, etc. in Lieu of Degree (required)
  • 2 years relevant Supervisory experience (required)
  • Local Travel up to 50% of the time, based on area supervised
Position Responsibilities SWHR Supervisor Patient Navigation supervises operation of navigators to meet production and quality standards at highest level. Monitor referral queues for production within quality, timeliness, and accuracy parameters. Coach and motivate employees to meet performance expectations. Conduct interviews, provide coaching and training within HR and departmental guidelines. Maintain appropriate staff levels and create action plan to support additional employees as needed to provide highest level of completed referrals. Monitor referral queues for volume and manage coverage during peak levels through shifting of current employees to reduce/minimize potential backlog and provide coverage during PTO/Holidays as needed. Communicate scheduled and timely information to provide opportunities for successful deployment of department and zone initiatives, reporting changes and for presenting new action plans. Develop opportunities to strengthen communication between Patient Navigators, clinic staff and Patient Navigation leadership. Evaluate new clinics for inclusion in Patient Navigation program. Provide feedback and action plan based on space, referral volume, insurance panel size and mix, and number of providers. Review current Patient Navigation clinics quarterly to maintain appropriate Navigator levels to cover new providers, practice growth and referral volume.
 
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Supervisor Patient Navigation will:
  • have excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, written)
  • energetic personality
  • exemplary planning and organizational skills with a high degree of detail
  • computer literate with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications (SalesForce, EMR, Flowcast, web-based insurance verifications programs)
  • problem solving skills, goal driven leader who maintains a productive climate, motivating and coaching employees to meet high level of performance and quality standards
  • advanced level of decision making skills
