TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Field Maintenance Technician I to join our team in Orlando! This is an entry level position.

Job Description:   The Field Maintenance Technician I position performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of customer equipment. This job may include any aspect of field support including troubleshooting, repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, and programming. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Requirements of this position include a variable work schedule that is on a 3-month rotation, On-Call and paid standby time, and the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Rotational Schedule:

  • Sunday - Thursday: 12:30 AM to 9:00 AM
  • Tuesday - Saturday: 12:30 AM to 9:00 AM
  • Monday - Friday: 12:30 AM to 9:00 AM

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Installation, preventive and corrective maintenance of Windows 7&10 Micro-Computers, video surveillance equipment cameras, RF antennas, switches, POE, UPS units, CAT 6 cabling and network communications equipment.
  • Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Restoring equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
  • Responds to corrective maintenance requests or alarms within an acceptable time frame.
  • Maintenance of spare equipment and parts including inventory management.
  • Completes reports, logs, and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practices.
  • On-call support on weekends/holidays is a requirement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Windows 7, 10 , tools, equipment, and materials utilized within the trade.
  • Communicate effectively to perform work assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Education:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
