The Intelligent Data Platform powered by CLAIRE enables organizations to out-perform competitors through the disruptive use of data. The CLAIRE engine provides Enterprise Unified Metadata Intelligence to accelerate productivity across the Informatica Enterprise Cloud Data Management product portfolio and is responsible for

  • Extracting and loading metadata across a wide variety of source systems that include DI, DM, BI and Relational sources
  • Discover and profile sources to derive meaningful statistics
  • Provides a rich UI interface for searching metadata and provides lineage and relationship of various metadata assets
  • Leverages a variety of big data technologies
  • Uses machine learning and other AI techniques to classify, cluster data sources and provide recommendations to accelerate and automate governance processes of the Informatica Intelligent Data Platform.

 

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Software QA Engineer with a proven record of testing/developing and delivering enterprise class software. In this role, as part of AI/Machine Learning team, you will have the unique opportunity to lead ground-breaking work that helps establish Informatica’s ML/AI engine i.e. CLAIRE and make Informatica Intelligent data platform the industry standard for data management.

You will be responsible for taking care of all steps starting from dataset preparation, test plan, testing strategy, training algorithms and deploying models to enable AI/ML based solutions. Projects will range from simpler prediction problems with linear/logistic regression to complex problems in NLP you will be responsible for design, architecture and delivery of a product feature or component.

We want you to be a strong technical member with excellent coding skills. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

 

Your Responsibilities

As an integral part of the CMG, R&D team you will be responsible for the following –

  • Ability to root cause defects by analyzing debug logs, analyzing crash dumps and reviewing code
  • Hands on experience with one more tools such as Coverity, Fortify, Code Collaborator, VeraCode, JMeter, unit testing frameworks such as CPPUnit, Junit.
  • Should have strong design, programming, debugging experience, and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates of projects and meet project schedules.
  • Communicate across features and components within the product.
  • Interact with other groups on same product and cross product groups.
  • Conduct talks/demos within team.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality, scalable software with a cohesive user experience.
  • Must be highly motivated with a strong passion for and commitment to software quality.
  • Candidate must have a strong desire to continually grow in the technical stream.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and verification of user stories Verify fixes before they go to customers, as needed (team does mainline and sustaining work) Identify areas for improvement and assist in refining standards and procedures
  • Advance best practices such as automated testing, correct prioritization of exploratory tests, thorough SDK documentation, peer reviews, maintaining API compatibility, creating robust, maintainable APIs, etc
  • Write quality, maintainable code with extensive test coverage in a fast-paced professional software engineering environment
  • Manage tasks within an Agile framework, clearing tasks and managing JIRA workflows
  • Manage long and short-term deliverables with Product Management according to a product roadmap
  • Architectural design and implementation for both internal and external consumptionYour Qualifications
  •  
  • 6+ years experience in software development
  • 4+ years experience with Python and Scala or Java
  • Experience with multiple large scale distributed systems or data platforms, including Spark, Flink, Kafka, Dataflow, BigQuery, BigTable, Dataproc etc
  • 2+ years experience working on AWS with an emphasis on their EMR, S3, and Kinesis
  • Experience working with terabyte level, real-time datasets
  • Dedication and practical experience with Microservice architecture
  • Strong algorithm & data structure knowledge
  • Comfortable with On-call coverage / rotations
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent Java programming skills
  • Experience with Java UI technologies such as Eclipse RCP and/or Swing and/or SWT
  • Experience with Javascript, JQuery, JSP, AJAX, JSON, SOAP, REST
  • Experience with Browser DOM and DHTML and CSS
  • Experience with TestNG or other Java unit testing tools.
