Job Description

The Financial Systems Analyst position is responsible for conducting highly complex analysis of the current Finance Systems and process in order to improve and automate. Responsible for collaborating across multiple functional areas that impact or partner with Financial Shared Services. Provides analysis for forward-looking and optimizing the various software systems utilizing, manages and tests ongoing upgrades and interim releases, documenting system issue logs, resolving system problems, developing user reports, maintaining daily or monthly interfaces.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Leads in digital transformation and automation projects to modernize the accounting and finance process and areas. Developing technical solutions that support month end, reporting, and optimize various supporting software integration. Defining project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements, and system impacts.(~35%)

•   Oversees and maintains the integrity of the SAP accounting system structure for linkage with Oracle and Essbase. Maintaining all Master Data databases across the organization. (~20%)

•   Work with product leader(s) or project sponsor to bridge the gap between development and business teams. Translating the tech speak to business speak. (~15%)

•   Leading the training and developing end user guides for various technical programs and integration efforts. (~10%)

•   Track and communicate to project leader(s) and sponsor(s) UAT deficiencies against test plans. Develop UAT defect registry and track project efforts to resolve test deficiencies. (~10%)

•   Ensure projects are conducted in a controlled and efficient manner including definition of and monitoring of requirements scope budgets and change management. Ensure documentation is maintained and process changes meet audit standards. (~10%)

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems preferred, but not required.
  •  3+ years of experience in an operations or project management related position with a track record of successful execution. 
  • 3+ years of experience in gathering business inputs and writing business requirement documentation with business implementation.
  • 5+ years specific experience with financial systems support/development.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

•   Business analysis and Process improvement experience, financial services background preferred.

•   Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of deliverables, and drive assigned tasks to completion.

•   Highly organized, exceptional problem solving skills, ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

•   Excellent written and oral communication skills.

•   Working knowledge of financial systems or transformation or technology and/or processes.

•   Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase MS-Access (and/or other database tools) Visual Basic and other automation tools.

•   Has worked in an agile environment and comfortable shifting priorities.

•   Proven experience in leading project and delivering against commitments and timelines.
