Job Description

Vericast is looking for a  Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for delivering day to day HR operational support services to our Commerce, CA manufacturing location! This role is responsible for various aspects of the employee life cycle and will serve as a liaison between HR Leadership and employees on various initiatives to optimize people, structure, process, and culture, to drive high performance.    

On any given day, your responsibilities will include:

•   Talent Acquisition/Onboarding:

   o   Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure talent needs are met

   o   Facilitate new-hire orientation program 

•   Data Management:

   o   Ensure accurate employee records are maintained

   o   Utilize HR systems for data entry, report generation and recordkeeping

•   Employee Support:

   o   Serve as primary point of contact to employees on day-to-day HR-related questions.  Inquiries could include questions regarding payroll, benefits, and general employee-related matters

   o  Manage all employee life cycle events to include leaves of absence, disability, worker's compensation, job changes, termination, etc.

   o   Develop and maintain trust; create successful working relationships where employees are comfortable bringing questions and concerns

   o   Escalate sensitive and complex issues to senior HR leadership.

•   Special projects - May participate in HR related projects and initiatives 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum of 3 years HR Generalist type responsibilities or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work experience in a Manufacturing environment (preferred)

•   Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and handles sensitive matters with professionalism

•   Able to work independently and flexibly on a broad variety of responsibilities and projects

•   Strong credibility with demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with dynamic internal client groups

•   Able to work in the gray when limited information is available.  Self-starter, ability to multi-task

•   Adapts easily to change

•   Takes initiative, is a problem solver and sees opportunities for improvement as a challenge that can be overcome

•   Able to motivate and empower others to reach organizational goals.  Persuasive when required and influential with indirect influence

•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational skills.

•  Must be bilingual, fluent in Spanish

•   Builds trust easily

•   Good judgment and decision making skills

•   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

•   Facilitation and training delivery skills desired and a plus

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Communicates with client group employees and managers, external customers/vendors, DOL/OFCCP, state workforce commissions, and regulatory agencies

DECISION MAKING

Ability to solution creatively • Requires broad conceptual judgment and ability to deal with complex factors • Assists in the data gathering so that decisions in all areas of H.R. Management can be made to include: Personnel development, Hiring/firing, benefits, compensation, training, budgetary, legal actions, and various other personnel decisions.

OTHER

Job Complexity: Requires ability to resolve more complex inquiries on their own and apply moderately high levels of independent thinking to resolve issues. Provide directional support on H.R. issues to Supervisors/Managers at location(s).
 

Additional Information

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
