Overview

Stewart & Stevenson is Now Hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer Manager at 10750 Telge Road Houston, TX 77095. Responsible for planning and directing the accomplishment of electrical engineering objectives. Responsible for providing technical guidance and ensuring sound engineering procedures and effective use of facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares Research and Development requests and justifications.
  • Prepares budget and schedules for the development of new product lines. Maintains system of budget and schedule control.
  • Performs other Engineering duties as assigned.
  • Plans and directs the work of the highly skilled engineering staff, placing particular emphasis on research and development to achieve product engineering objectives.
  • Confers with marketing department to consider market potential for new products.
  • Develops new products from the beginning concept to testing and full production.
  • Organizes engineering staff to accomplish goals efficiently and authorizes recruitment of additional personnel as required.
  • Monitors progress of projects, confers with project engineers, and reviews reports to see that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Reports to UP of Engineering on a regular basis. Works closely with that officer and the general manager of manufacturing to establish long-range operating goals and expansion.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education (GED) and three to seven years related experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering and in increasingly complex supervisory positions required. Master’s degree in engineering or business administration preferred.

 

Computer Skills:

JD Edwards, MS Office, AutoCad, and Inventor

 

Other Requirements:

  • Must facilitate good working relationships among subordinates.
  • Responsible for care of a broad variety of materials and experimental products.
  • Responsible for care of standard office equipment and a variety of shop and test equipment.
  • Considerable damage or loss is possible but can be prevented by using a high degree of care and attention.
  • Contacts with persons inside or outside the company where matters discussed require resourcefulness, tact, and a working knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with some shop environment exposure. Shop environment may not have air conditioning.
