Mental Health Professional - Family Based Intern 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Academic/Professional:  
1.    Current Enrollment: The candidate must be actively enrolled in a Master’s degree program in a relevant field such as psychology,
       social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, anthropology, or other human services-related disciplines which
       would meet the degree requirement to be eligible for the position of Mental Health Profession in Family Based post-graduation.
2.    Experience Required:  Must have completed at least 2 years of CASSP Experience by date of graduation. 
3.    Career Path Alignment: The internship should align with the candidate’s academic and career goals in fields related to mental health
       or human services.
4.    Growth Opportunity: This position is designed to support the intern's professional development and provide hands-on experience in
       mental health service delivery, with mentorship and training opportunities to build competencies needed for future certification or
       licensure.
 
Other Requirements:
1.    Staff are expected to complete at least 20 hours per week over 40 weeks  (or 800 total hours) with Beaver County children/families.  
2.    It is expected that Interns that utilize this paid internship opportunity would transition to an employee in this program for one (1) year
       post completion of their degree.*  (*This does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment) 
3.    Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to perform essential job functions.
4.    Must complete and pass agency Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training.
5.    Must have emotional stability to perform essential job functions.
6.    Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7.    Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and access to reliable transportation are required.
8.    Ability to adapt hours to needs of position.  Will need to work evenings regularly and weekend hours as needed.
9.    Must be able to work independently and display time management skills.
10.  Ability to remain organized despite pressured situations.
11.  Ability to utilize and manage agency issued phone during working hours.
12.  Ability to provide crisis intervention and on-call coverage.
13.  Have acceptable PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance, FBI clearance, Arrest/Conviction Report and
       Certification and Act 168 Forms.
14.  Must be able to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agency’s Core Values.

CORE COMPETENCIES:
1.  Complete all required paperwork within 30 days of admission.
2.  Will work collaboratively with families in order to provide support and education related to their individualized needs.
3.  Will work within the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy framework.
4.  Will work with an assigned partner.
5.  Will participate in agency and state mandated trainings.
6.  Will maintain compliance with state mandated supervision requirements. 
 
Rate of Pay:
$18.00 hourly
