
Assistant/Associate Professor-Trauma-(Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital) - Surgery, McGovern Medical School
McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position in the Department of Surgery. The candidate will serve as full-time surgical faculty at Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital (Harris Health LBJ) and will be an integral part of the development of the next ACS Level 1 Verified Trauma Center in Houston, Texas. A new $1.6 billion hospital is under construction and expected to open in late 2028. The new Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital will become the county's third adult Level I trauma hospital. The candidate will join a talented team of physicians who strive for excellence in education, research, and clinical practice.
Position Key Accountabilities:
· Participate in the acute care surgery clinical practice at Harris Health LBJ.
· Collaborating with the broader Department.
· Teaching activities including patient rounds, presentations, lectures, and attendance at appropriate conferences, such as Surgery Grand Rounds, Morbidity and Mortality Conferences, and the scheduled Harris Health LBJ Division conferences.
· Participate in various academic activities such as research, quality improvement, education, and administration.
Qualifications:
· Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
· American Board of Surgery certified or board eligible.
