This positions primary responsibility is in support for our Large Group Account Manager. This person will be supporting a large group block of business consisting of 70 groups with over 4,500 members. This person would also assist with activities that may include, but are not limited to, assistance with open enrollment meetings, health fairs, inside sales, managing ongoing relationships and service delivery to clients.  Acts as outward-facing, dedicated resource for assigned Account Executive, typically with additional direct client contact and at times needs to handle complex issues. Builds relationships and can be the primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery. Coordinates with other departments to implement and complete projects and address ongoing service needs. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ingest and accurately execute on a large volume of daily claims inquiries and respond within 24-48 hours; need to be fully versed in claims, enrollment, portal inquiries for members and group leaders, and related systems to assist with directing resolving/inquiries effectively
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with client contacts and nurture client retention 
  • Serve as a liaison between the Account Executive and internal/external business partners 
  •  Excellent communication and written skills to articulate complex situations as well as correspond with key brokers and client contacts
  • Be able to manage competing deliverables with high profile brokers
  • Required to attend offsite meetings upon request; this may include Wellness fairs, open enrollment sessions, service visits for Q&A/resolve open issues in person and various broker meetings throughout the year.
  • Be able to fully back up the assigned Account Executive when they are offsite/on PTO
  • Conducts education, presentations, and distributes marketing materials in support of segment initiatives. Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise.
  • Participates in sales meetings, presentations and site visits to cultivate relationships.
  • Communicates status, issues, risk, exposure and recommendations to same on a timely basis.   
  • Works collaboratively with segment team to understand and meet all strategic initiatives and goals within the segment
  • Actively demonstrates comprehensive understanding of products, the competitive environment and the industry.
  • Required to maintain active sales license for position.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing/a related field, or equivalent experience is required.   
  • A minimum of two years work experience, preferably in sales or marketing or fast paced environment where building relationships/repeat customers is essential.     
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must have the ability to develop and facilitate presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a high-volume, highly visible, deadline-oriented environment is essential. 
  • Knowledge of AHNJ products, services, and administration a plus. Health insurance experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as CRM packages, such as ROAM strongly preferred. 
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car for extensive visits to account/broker locations.

Active NJ State Accident & Health license required.  Sales license must be obtained within 60 days of hire into position. 

Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car. 

We have implemented a “Hybrid” model which provides our associates with the ability work in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
