DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in the Philadelphia, PA, Fort Washington, PA, or Allentown, PA office. You will support all aspects of design and plan preparation for a variety of water resource projects. As a key member of our team, you will assist other Project Engineers & Project Managers with tasks to include:
- Preparing construction plans and specifications
- Assisting in all aspects of Water Resource design including Stormwater design, water/sewer design, drainage conveyance system design, E&S control design, and hydraulic studies
- Performing H&H studies using software such HY-8 and HEC-RAS
- Preparing NPDES applications, technical reports, and cost estimates
- Coordinating permitting efforts with various stormwater agencies
- Training/mentoring junior engineers and technicians
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited University
- 5 – 10 years of related experience
- P.E. certificate in PA required
- AutoCAD and MicroStation skills
- Experience in preparation of construction documents, design calculations, permit application, basic reports and other supporting documentation to support civil design
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferences
- Technical background in drainage design, H&H calculations, and stormwater management design.
- PADOT and PWD experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Be versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting the Water Group
- Goal oriented and Quality focused
- Civil 3D and OpenRoads skills
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.

WATER RESOURCES PRACTICE
Michael Baker International’s Water Group provides innovative consulting, planning and engineering solutions for the entire spectrum of the water cycle. We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services. Protection and management of water resources starts at the watershed level and follows the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
