We are hiring for part-time and/or contingent LPN's for day shift (6am-6:30pm).

Duties to be performed shall include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Monitor admissions paperwork
  • Initiate resident service plan for admissions/re-admissions 
  • Perform daily rounds to ensure that devices/alarms are in place and to ensure quality of care
  • Monitor shower list 
  • Monitor weights and inform dietary of weight loss/gain concerns
  • Assist with call lights
  • Monitor dining room as needed
  • Communicate changes in resident status 
  • Supervise Personal Service Attendants
  • Dispense medications
  • Perform treatments as ordered by physicians
  • Supervise Care Centers
  • Assists as necessary emergency calls from Woodpointe Residential Living when necessary
  • Teach new procedures and techniques to staff
  • Oversee Personal Service Attendant orientation
  • Attend seminars and training programs to stay current
  • Serve on committees as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living
  • Maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with other departments 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Must be a Licensed Nurse graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Must hold a current and unencumbered license as a Licensed Nurse in the State of Michigan.

SPECIAL FEATURES/REQUIREMENTS

Licensed as a Nurse for the State of Michigan. Follows/adheres to Woodhaven policies, federal state regulations and guidelines, including Resident Rights; maintains neat well groomed appearance, adhering to Woodhaven dress code.

EXPERIENCE

Must have been a licensed nurse for a minimum of two years. A year of geriatric experience is preferred.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients/residents, family members, visitors and the general public. Should be able to provide direct resident care as needed. Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary. Should be able to lead, supervise and manage the aides in providing care and assistance to all residents with different care needs. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents with sensitivity to their cognitive abilities. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

EXPOSURE RISK

The Manager of Resident Services is at significant risk for exposure to blood and body fluids

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devices) Safely lifts and transfers Residents weighing an average of 150 pounds, with or without assistance, as needed. Pushes Residents in wheelchair weighing up to 250 pounds on an as needed basis approximately 300 feet; frequently twists, stoops, bends, squats; frequently lifts and carries equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds; occasionally kneels, frequently reaches above, at or below shoulder height; 98% of day is spent indoors, 2% outdoors; 30% of work day is spent standing , 50% walking, 10% sitting. Communicates orally and/or in writing with Residents, coworkers, families, public.
