    At a Glance

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior MEMs Sensor Engineer to join the Electrical Wiring Systems R&D Team in the Syracuse, NY location. The position will be responsible for integrating MEMs sensors into our legacy products to create innovative new IoT based home automation and lighting control products. The successful candidate will provide the technical leadership and expertise to help revolutionize the product lines of the Pass & Seymour business unit into IoT capable devices.

    What Will You Do?
    • Integrate microphones and micro-speakers into products to enable voice control
    • Integrate force and haptic sensors into products for touch control and feedback
    • Integrate temperature, gas, and humidity sensors into products to monitor indoor environments, collect data, and initiate actions
    • Integrate IR, Ultrasonic, and other sensing means into products to enable monitoring of presence and motion
    • Integrate CMOS image sensors and micro-mirrors into products to enable optical capabilities
    • Identify and collaborate with key technology partners and suppliers to create next generation products
    • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to create advanced, responsive, and interactive home and building IoT systems
    • Collaborate with product line management and executive team to develop product and technology roadmaps
    • Collaborate with multiple Legrand business units on multi-site engineering projects.
    • Design and test hardware interface circuits between MEMS devices and microprocessors


    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS or equivalent degree in electrical engineering or related technical field
    • 8+ years of experience developing new products using MEMs / Sensor technology
    • 4+ years of analog design experience including PCB layout and circuit simulation

    Preferred Skills:
    • Master of Science in a technical field.
    • Knowledge in lighting control, home automation and/or internet of things.
    • Ability to lead projects and technology development
    • Ability to travel within USA, Europe, and Asia (total is less than 5%).
    • Ability to lead others by example.
