External Description: Thank you for your interest in a position with Equitable.

Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Equitable, the Lead Manager Security Architecture and Engineering ("Lead Manager") will have accountability for designing, operating and optimizing the Cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering function. The scope of the Lead Manager role includes establishment of a vision for the security program, security architecture function, standards. Your responsibilities include the following responsibilities:

  • Drive operational excellence and delivering continued program improvements in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the organization.
  • Contribute to cyber security roadmap development for enterprise level systems and ensure alignment with overall security strategy.
  • Direct engineering and architecture principles for security management setting the strategy for the organization.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional IT disciplines to ensure proper controls are implemented in our infrastructure and application environment.
  • Accountable for leading and/or oversight of Security Architecture specific programs/projects/remediation actions as well as ensuring the successful on-time, on-scope and on-budget deliveries of those programs.
  • Define and communicate the company's strategic platform and target architecture, implementing and driving security practices for enterprise and cloud environments using an intelligence and threat-driven defense model.
  • Establish and oversee the Security Architecture governance framework ensuring integration with the IT Operating model. Champion a DevOps security model so that security is automated and adaptable across all platforms
  • Define, create and maintain security architecture artifacts (i.e. models, patterns, templates, baseline etc.)
  • Leads proof of concept research and development in line with emerging industry trends, identifying emerging information technologies to be integrated and introduced within the company.
  • Lead transformation from manual security assessments to a focus on developing automated testing tools and processes.
  • Provides technical supervision, oversight and problem resolution for engineering activities
  • Advise security leadership on risk levels and security posture of managed systems.
  • Interact regularly with senior executives and individual departmental leads to ensure that security priorities are aligned with the company strategic directions.
  • Develop, track, report and deliver on relevant key security architectural metrics. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to meet overall business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 8 years of experience in an engineering-based role with technical delivery experience.
  • 8 years of experience developing for and deploying to the public cloud and technical experience across key security domains including access management, network security, data protection, application security, change management, etc.
  • 8 years of security experience across cloud architecture deployments (Azure), governance, and general cloud security controls
  • 8 years of experience architecting and developing IaaS, PaaS, & SaaS cloud solutions for large organizations
  • 5 years of experience with cloud security frameworks (e.g. Cloud Security Alliance)
  • 5 years of experience managing, building and developing technical talent teams.
  • 5 years of experience with micro-services, containers, CICD tools e.g. Jenkins. and infrastructure as code solutions.
  • 8 years in cyber security threats and effective mitigation strategies.
  • Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: GIAC Certifications (e.g. GDSA, GDAT, GSE, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the emerging cloud technologies and ecosystem and how to integrate security designs
  • A dedicated and self-driven desire to think creatively and produce results.
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment, as well as sound business sense with a strategic, conceptual and operational orientation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior IT & business executives.
  • Demonstrated executive-level presentation and report writing capabilities.
