Position Summary

Responsible for strategy, roadmap, and profitable growth of the Switchboard portfolio in North America

Oversee the QED2 offer through the entire product lifecycle
Provide a clear roadmap for product maintenance and development


Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and adapt the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
Drive and support Sustainability Metrics and Efforts for improvements
Structure the product R&D process, set up new squads, capture business cases, and lead development projects
Define, scope, and prioritize features and activities based on business and customer impact
Own the product development backlog
Optimize the offer with clear development scope for cross-functional teams
Capture benefits, value propositions, and customer use cases to derive sales and financial benefits
Review pricing and profitability to maximize returns and identify areas for improvement
Use product and customer knowledge to pinpoint areas for cost optimization
Seek out the Voice of Sales, Customers, Services, and other stakeholders for beneficial offer changes
Monitor and analyze industry trends, competition, and governing bodies to prioritize the roadmap
Develop business cases to summarize effort/costs vs proposed business and customer value
Work with finance and supply chain teams to forecast product to ensure proper material/labor supply
Promote the offer by developing and executing launch, announcement, and marketing plans
Be the subject matter expert and evangelize the offer, customer applications/needs, roadmap, and priorities
Communicate and interact with senior leaders, product sponsors, stakeholders, and customers
Manage roadmaps and lifecycle plans, develop new products and features, determine
integrations and transitions, obsolescence, and withdrawal

Qualifications
BS in engineering, mechanical and/or electrical engineering preferred OR Candidates with BS in business, marketing, or finance degrees with strong technical backgrounds
At least 5+ years prior technical experience with Switchboards

Leadership of cross-functional teams with ability to influence and convince executive members
Strong in data analysis using excel and/or other data sources

Ability to travel up to 15% of time within North America

Skills & Abilities
Interest in technical, business, and marketing principles with a desire to advance studies in those fields (MBA, MS in Engineering Management)
Very strong in entrepreneurship spirit with proactive behavior
Excellent business acumen to understand value generation and payback
Clear communication and presentations skills internal and external, represent the customer view internally at all levels and present offer to customers in presentations and at Trade Shows
Curiosity to create something new, innovate, and develop
Problem solving, collaborative and negotiating skills that accomplish best, justifiable outcomes
Manage multiple projects/activities simultaneously
Ability to understand technical concepts and applications around power distribution, codes & standards, and electrical systems

Understand marketing principles - product positioning, pricing strategies, channel management, value propositions and competitive comparisons, market trends

Understand business principles profitability, margin, cost analysis

Ability to create concise product offer specifications, sales tools & business cases
Agile mindset for accomplishing objectives while managing resources within a budget
 
Preferences
At least 5+ years prior technical experience in the power, controls, or electric distribution industry

At least 5+ years experience and knowledge in product management, product development, applications, sales, or technical marketing

Experience with Contractors, End Users, Facility Engineers
