ACCOUNTING/STORE AUDIT SPEC
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Perform last in first out (LIFO) inventories
- Perform cash and price check audits
- Perform dating compliance audits (out of date checks)
- Perform anti-money laundering audits (AMLA) and ensure store follows all AMLA division policies and procedures
- Provide pre-inventory communication to store managers and third-party
- Support and administer paperwork involved in store robberies
- Perform equipment and Reclamation & Salvage (R&S) inventories. Review and guide projects and program enhancements related to FCB and gross profit accounting
- Provide FCB system, data integrity and data purity training and coaching to all applicable division and corporate personnel
- Develop collaborative relationships with divisions, corporate merchandisers, and store operations teams to cross functionally determine the root cause of FCB issues
- Oversee all aspects of inventory counting procedures, including inventory services methods, practices, and data generation
- Work extensively with Technology teams on maintaining systems to ensure data integrity and problem resolution
- Work with Merchandising in support of special initiatives to ensure the accuracy of costing and gross profits
- Travel up to 75% of the time to stores within the division

Qualifications
- 5+ years prior accounting, merchandising, store management experience or combined experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Business Objects reporting
- Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures related to process and accounting controls
- Working knowledge of retail financial practices and store operating statements
- Strong self-motivation and problem solving skills
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance or related field
- Any prior accounting center, division or manufacturing accounting experience or audit experience
- General knowledge of FCB, Direct Store Delivery (DSD), 709s, Warehouse Billing, Inventory Management Interface (IMI), Inventory Reconciliation System (IRS), Perishable Inventory Reporting (PIR), and Product Identification database (PID)
- General knowledge of Kroger Category Management Systems (KCMS) shipment reporting
