Bus Monitor

• Assists bus driver with checking the brake lights during the pre-trip inspections
• Greets children in a friendly and cordial manner
• Escorts children to and from the bus when parents do not
• Helps children on and off the bus
• Safely supervise children while enroute to center
• Buckle child in his/her seat belts and restraints
• Assists the bus driver in keeping negative behavior under control
• Assists the bus driver in maintaining the bus rules
• Follows the bus driver’s instructions
• Sits in the middle of the bus and visually supervise children while enroute to and from the center
• Assists with accounting for children daily during the bus route
• Adheres to the Corporal Punishment Issuance
• Participates in Bus Emergency Evacuation Safety Drills
• Assists the Bus Driver with evacuating the bus in emergencies
• Follows Policies and Procedures – “No Child Left Behind”

• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
• Ability to communicate effectively with children
• Courteous to parents/guardians
• Ability to lift children out of buses during evacuations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 18 years of age
