The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech’s Portage office is seeking a motivated Scientist/Geologist/Engineer Intern to join our high-performing team to continue providing top-of-the-line client services.

Your Role:

This is a paid internship that provides the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in various aspects of environmental site investigation and remediation field. The position is open to graduates with a 4-year or higher degree in geology, environmental engineering or science, geographic information systems, geography, physical/chemical sciences, biology, and related environmental disciplines from an accredited university, or a student enrolled in same.

Duties will be a mix of office work and field work, including sample and data collection. Office work will require the ability to summarize environmental data for input into technical reports and create accurate data tables, filing and general office administration.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a 4-year program in relevant science program, or recent graduate.
  • 0 – 3 years of experience.
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS or CAD.
  • Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel / perform field work (approx. 25% of travel required).
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
