What You’ll Get to Do
The packing Associate is focused on Ensuring proper and safe packing of materials and reports to the Packing manager.

This role is perfect for an individual who is detail oriented . A vital member of the Packing Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Secure items needed for packing (Cardboard, tape, paper, foam, etc.), if needed.
  • Check the reference sheet on the packing station desk to see what size corrugated fanfold packing (cardboard) needs to be used, how many extrusions are included in a standard pack, and identify the exposed surfaces need to be protected. 
  • Verify correct length of metal by measuring with tape measure.
  • Verify the box quantity and the correct fan fold size before packing, unless otherwise specified by customer.
  • Create the packing label using EPICS.

What We Are Looking For

  • Communicate well with peers and management
  • Good math skills and ability to learn how to use and read a tape measure
  • Read written instructions and follow verbal instructions
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and work under time constraints

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 10-12 hours
  • Stand, stoop, bend twist or sit for long periods of time
  • Grasp, squeeze, hold/handle thin to thick metal, hand/power tools, small parts & large items
  • Reach, handle, grasp & turn and lift using upper body while moving
  • Lift, push, pull or move up to 50 lbs individually or 150lbs with a partner
  • Visual acuity to inspect aluminum for various quality flaws
  • Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work in temperatures consistent with same outdoor climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
