As a Data Product Owner, your responsibilities encompass various aspects of the development, management, and success of a data product within an organization. Here are the key responsibilities typically associated with the role:
· Product Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders and data teams to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data product. Understand business objectives and translate them into actionable plans to deliver value through data.
· Requirements Gathering: Gather and prioritize requirements from stakeholders, including business users, data analysts, data scientists, and engineers. Conduct user interviews, workshops, and data discovery sessions to understand user needs and pain points. Define clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development.
· Product Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as data engineers, data scientists, and UX/UI designers, to develop and implement the data product. Collaborate in Agile development processes, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups. Ensure alignment with product goals, quality standards, and timelines.
· Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and maintain data standards, privacy controls, and security measures. Implement and monitor data quality and governance processes.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for the data product, facilitating effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders at all levels. Build and maintain strong relationships with business users, data teams, and other stakeholders. Understand their needs, provide support, and gather feedback to continually improve the data product
- 10+ years of industry professional experience or a bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, or an industry equivalent with consultative/complex deployment project, architecture, design, implementation and/or support of data and analytics solutions
- At least 8+ years of Data Engineering experience (AWS) in delivering Advance Analytics solution, Data Warehousing, Big Data or Cloud.
- Should have strong knowledge in SQL, developing, deploying, and modelling DWH and data pipelines on Snowflake or AWS cloud or similar other cloud environments. Presenting and providing meaningful business insights from data using Power BI / Tableau/ Qlik Sense.
- 5+ years of experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, data modeling, verification, and methodology development with a good hold of communicating complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical team members
- Experience leading large-scale enterprise level implementation of Data & Insights projects & team Management Experience.
- Manage data related requests, analyze issues and provide efficient resolution. Design all program specifications and perform required tests.
- Experience in authoring or reviewing system design documents for enterprise solutions.
- Strong coding skills in Python or Scala.
- 8+ years’ experience in Data Visualization tools like Power BI/ Tableau/ Qlik Sence
- 8+ years’ experience in the Amazon Web Services stack experience including S3, Athena, Redshift, Glue, or Lambda
- 8+ years’ experience with cloud data warehousing solutions including Snowflake with developing in and implementation of dimensional modeling
- Experience with Open source tools [Airflow etc.] & integration with AWS platform will be preferred
- Certified as Cloud Architect from a reputed public cloud.
- Experience with Git and CICD pipelines.
- Development experience with docker and a Kubernetes environment (would be a plus)
- Understanding of infrastructure (including hosting, container based deployments and storage architectures) would be advantageous
