DH Pace Company, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking to hire a Project Manager for our growing team! This individual is responsible for leading projects with a focus on delivering exceptional results for customers while maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring a positive team environment. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle challenges with professionalism and integrity. This position requires a results-driven individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to delivering excellence in project management.

 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Review project plans and specifications to determine materials, schedule, budget parameters, staffing requirements, and the allocation of available resources for various project phases.
    • Proactively identify potential risks, challenges, or delays and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
    • Discuss and establish work plan outlines with staff, assign duties, define scope of authority, and provide technical advice and troubleshooting support.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Proactively address and manage customer interactions to ensure a positive experience, even when delivering difficult news.
    • Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and changes to customers, ensuring transparency and trust.
    • Serve as a point of escalation for customer concerns and work to resolve issues promptly.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment that values employee contributions and customer satisfaction.
    • Conduct yearly performance evaluations for applicable direct reports and provide regular feedback.
    • Coach direct reports on disciplinary actions, performance improvement, and development opportunities.
    • Assess training needs for team members and implement development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Direct and coordinate activities to ensure projects are on schedule and within budgeted scope; review status reports prepared by staff and make necessary adjustments.
    • Champion a culture of safety by auditing compliance and addressing unsafe practices.
  • Fiscal and Business Management:
    • Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing budgets, controlling costs, and conducting business audits to ensure profitability and compliance.
    • Monitor project financial performance and address variances promptly

 Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferable
  • Three (3) years of experience with managing projects in the construction industry, preferable but not required.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate and address challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Confidence in making tough decisions, including delivering unfavorable news to customers, while maintaining professionalism and trust.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office
