Who we are looking for
State Street Markets is looking for a dynamic sell side Research Sales professional. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation and understanding of equities, multi asset investing, portfolio construction as well as larger macroeconomics drivers. The position will play a key role in driving the growth of our innovative Strategy and Quantitative research. Stakeholders include portfolio managers, analysts, product heads, and CIO’s and the candidate applying for this position should feel comfortable organizing and presenting complex concepts into actionable ideas.

When owners and managers of institutional assets need research, trading, securities lending and innovative portfolio strategies, they turn to SSGM business unit. As our investment research and trading arm, SSGM’s number one goal is to enhance and preserve our clients’ portfolio values by applying technology, optimizing trading, and linking asset classes and markets across the world.
What you will be responsible for
- As a Senior Research Salesperson, you will be expected to:
- Position State Street’s award wining research with sophisticated institutional investors
- Manage and meet revenue targets through managing existing clients and prospecting pipeline
- Regularly meet with institutional investment teams, including connecting clients to SSGM’s research strategists and analysts when required
- Maintain dialogue with broker liaisons to ensure State Street’s participation in broker votes
- Help drive attendance to State Street research conferences

- Ability to contribute to research / product ideas and sales management discussions
- Sales leadership, mentoring and guidance to sales and trading teams, as well as rotating interns and current graduate analysts.
- Engage in conversations to help the research team focus on important themes and topics.
- Lead client engagement for our research, including global Equity, FX, and Rates research
- Work towards a more intensive collaboration between research, sales, and trading teams.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors in Finance, Economics, or Accounting with CFA or MBA preferred.
- FINRA Series 7and 63 required.
- 10+ years of experience in sell side research with a focus on global macro, cross-asset, and investment strategy products and a deep understanding of equity drivers.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, IPREO, McLagan Data, and addressable North American market
Additional requirements
- Travel requirements will be 25-50% of time
- Role will be in-office based in Boston or New York

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $177,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
