JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is contingent on a contract award.

Designs, develops, implements and evaluates program-wide learning solutions in support of the Army National Guard (ARNG) Military Funeral Honors (MFH) and Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) enterprise resourced by the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Soldier and Family Support Division (ARNGHRS). Administers training program to develop fully qualified MFH and SOS Coordinators to develop and maintain a high level of proficiency in providing funeral honors, information, assistance, referral, and follow-up services to families and survivors from all service components. Assists with case transfers between service components and assists with case transfers from the Army Casualty Mortuary Affairs Operations Division (CMAOD).
  • Facilitates training courses across program including, but not limited to, new hire training orientation, standard operating processes and procedures, PMO specific training, etc.

  • Coordinates and conducts virtual MFH and SOS annual training events and conferences.

  • Develops draft agendas, training packages and training evaluation forms in advance of virtual training events and submits After-Action Reports (AARs). Summarizes event details, number of attendees, topics covered, summary of training evaluations, lessons learned, and recommendations for future training.

  • Coordinates and conducts MFH Trainer Certification Course (Level 2) for MFH personnel. This is a “train the trainer” course conducted six times annually at Government designated locations.

  • Ensures all SOS Coordinators attend bi-annual SOS Coordinator Training when offered by IMCOM.

  • Facilitates regional virtual training events as deemed appropriate by the Government.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Bachelors degree requires. A combination of education and work experience may be considered.

5+ years of instructional design experience with proven ability to design and build innovative, creative content, including job aids, instructor materials, etc.

Military experience and understanding of military culture required. Experience can be gained through prior or current military service, member of a military family, or service as a military family volunteer.

Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design theory and models, learning styles, knowledge management practices and performance improvement models.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced, complex, multi-tasking virtual environment.

Strong project management skills with ability to lead multiple, complex projects with tight timeframes in a matrixed environment.

Effective organizational, time management, and communication skills, combined with attention to detail.

Excellent written and communication skills.

Strong background in reporting and analysis, in support of operational training initiatives.

Expert in use of Microsoft Products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Experience with remote training using asynchronous meeting tools and related program software.

Flexible work schedule including an uncommon tour of duty may be required to support and serve our military population. Must be able to work under demanding timelines to meet deadlines.

Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license and a personally owned vehicle that can be utilized.

Salary Range

Salary Minimum:

$58,440

Salary Maximum:

$93,500

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
