Saw Operator
aw Operator Role Description: This position will operate one or more types of saws for the production of specialized wood truss components. Responsible for getting wood components cut to stay ahead of building/assembly schedule.
Responsibilities: Customer service is highest priority, having the willingness to serve both internal and external customers with professional, courteous attitude Responsible for quality control of lumber defects, correct number and angles of cut pieces, and proper grade and size of lumber prior to cutting Responsible for cleanliness and organization of work area, blowing dust off machinery and floor on periodic basis, keeping saw machinery lubricated, and operating properly Operate saws in safe manner in accordance with machinery specifications, as trained and directed by management Communicate effectively with Lumber Pullers, and saw catchers to work as a team Responsible to maximize saw production while maintaining quality of output, always looking to improve on productive capacity or efficiency Any other duties as needed by Truss Production Manager or location management
Skills Needed: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to operate machinery in safe manner, without causing injury to yourself or others Ability to work well with others in a team environment

Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and hear, often required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to walk. Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally required to lift up to 110 lbs. Regularly required to use close vision(clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
