Job Description

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Places printed products in a box for shipping. Is responsible for ensuring printed products are in the proper order, all products are for the proper customer, and that the necessary flyers, reorder forms, etc. are enclosed in the box before the order is shipped. Ensures correct label is placed on the outside of the carton.

Moves runs from conveyor to workstation. Compares run of printed products to run header sheet (proofread).


Checks names, numbers, statements, wording, etc. on printed products to ensure accuracy. May also separate each order from the combo, make labels and inserts, box and ship the order.

Ensures quality of printed products. Fans first and last cells of run. Removes void sheets.
Counts number of books in order (cells). Inserts first book of checks and register in cover.

Builds inner and outer boxes as necessary. Places order in inner box. Inserts any necessary flyers. Places inner box in outer box. Places correct mailing label on outer box. Seals box. Places reruns and voids on shredding conveyor. Where appropriate may fill out rerun documents, use shrink wrap machine to wrap products as needed. Ensures correct product and inserts are placed in the carton, seals the carton and applies the correct label.

Cleans and restocks workstation as necessary.

Qualifications

Experience / Skills / Abilities Required

Entry level position, previous production experience a plus.

 

Communication & Contacts Required

Position is relatively independent. Interacts with others in work unit. No interaction with anyone outside of plant (except during tours). Communication is with other bindery workers, Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent, and/or Plant Supervisor. Communication from position is primarily verbal. Written communication from position includes completing production sheets. Position required to read houseletters from management and Corporate.

 

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Manufacturing. Walking, standing, reaching, bending, twisting, grasping in a minimum of an 8 hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 35-40 lbs.

Additional Information

Salary: $17 plus $1.75 shift differential

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
