This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, hours Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Responsible for the monitoring, upgrading, maintaining, and managing of network hardware and software. Acts as a final tier escalation point for all network issues related issues. Works with Tech Ops leadership on Strategic Initiatives, Improving Operational Excellence, Technology Safety & Soundness, and Business Safety & Sound Projects. Recommends hardware and software upgrades as it relates to normal system lifecycles.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as a technical resource for credit union in matters regarding network infrastructure systems. Maintains and supports network hardware and software such as switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and related systems. Assists users in accessing, installing, and securing network resources. Provide phone, network, and in-person support and training to end users ensuring their needs are met as a final tier escalation point
  • Serve on Tech Ops project teams ensuring that both Business and Technology Safety & Sound and Strategic Initiatives are delivered on time and within budget
  • Configures, monitors, and maintains all Unified Communications and Telecommunication resources such as data lines, devices, and phone systems connected to PMCU locations
  • Document and test computer systems to ensure optimal operation within the business environment. Create and maintain technical schematics, business processes and data flows on both a broad conceptual and highly detailed, technical level. Develop technical documents both for technical staff procedures as well as front-end documentation on how to utilize standard and custom-built solutions
  • Continually research, propose and implement improvements to technology operations infrastructure. Evaluate and make recommendations for hardware, software and services offered by third-party vendors
  • Occasionally work outside regularly scheduled hours; perform other duties as assigned
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Network Certifications such as CCIE, VCP-NV, and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer are preferred

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • High level of experience providing direct support for end-users
  • Expert understanding of networking concepts
  • Expert level of experience with Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Arista Networks, Palo Alto Networks Prisma Platform, FortiOS, and Meraki required
  • Highly analytical and expert problem solver
  • Experience with WAN mesh network technologies like SD-WAN required

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience..

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong verbal, writing, and listening skills
  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others; have the heart of a teacher
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and understand system and network concepts
  • Ability to provide guidance and coach others on the Tech Ops team
  • Ability to work and travel independently
  • Ability to use general office equipment and systems
  • Ability to manage multiple work-streams including support and emergency tasks in addition to maintaining progress on scheduled projects and tasks
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic and changing environment and adapt quickly to new conditions and priorities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks and projects
  • Ability to recognize and define problems, research, and establish facts, and resolve issues and problems promptly.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Some travel within Colorado is expected.
  • Standard office conditions.
  • Low to moderate noise.
  • Limited lifting up to 50 lbs.
