Summary/Objective
Operates and tends to the machine that finishes fabric.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Threads the machine with fabric and fills J-Box.
- Assembles buggies in the staging area.
- Keeps de-twister threaded.
- Monitors the gauges on the machine and watches for irregular readings.
- Visually inspects the machine and fabric during the entire process to ensure proper processing.
- Troubleshoots cause of problems. Notifying supervisor and maintenance when equipment malfunctions.
- Perform other general maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust, and various chemicals, and moving mechanical parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach with hands and arms at and above shoulder level, perform repetitive hand actions – grasping, push/pull, and fine manipulations, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and frequently lift up to 50 Ibs. The employee must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Thursday, 10pm to 8am. Weekends and overtime may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to operate a tugger or forklift. Certification to operate these units will be required.
- Must be able to operate a sewing machine.
