Job Overview
The Pricing Specialist will play a vital role in the management and execution of various pricing proposals in the branded and private label space for sales opportunities that are brought to the GLC Pricing Team. The incumbent will ensure all pricing aligns to support our corporate strategy, and develop continuous improvements to ensure the pricing process is delivering the expected results for the business. The specialist is responsible for supporting the creation, setup, execution, and roll out of all approved pricing proposals.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the pricing process by researching and gathering competitive product pricing information to inform decisions.
- Perform initial pricing analytics to assess product profitability, including cost to serve, volume-based price discounts, and rebate opportunities.
- Collaborate with the costing team to understand the cost breakdown of customer items and ensure accurate pricing inputs.
- Assist in coordinating with the Sales and Operations teams to incorporate customer feedback into pricing policies and support their understanding of the GLC Pricing Strategy.
- Compile and generate pricing performance reports, providing summary insights to stakeholders to assist in identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to financial analyses for sales programs and promotional campaigns by performing supporting calculations and tracking their effectiveness.
- Participate in the maintenance and enhancement of pricing systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Help review customer segmentation and buying behavior data to support stakeholder understanding of its impact on company performance.
- Maintain records of pricing and approvals to ensure compliance with established policies.
- Prepare and distribute standard monthly customer price lists for the Sales team.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related fields
- 1 year of experience in pricing, finance or related fields
- Strong business acumen and decision-making skills.
- Capable of structuring data and deriving associated insights and actions
- Strong ability to critically analyze and facilitate understanding of the various impacts associated with certain company decisions and the implications those decisions have on the business globally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Powerpoint.
- Confident and effective communication skills that can be leveraged in developing positive relationships with all cross-functional areas of the business.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous experience working in Accounting or Finance.
- Previous experience in the cheese/dairy industry.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes.
- SAP experience.
- Ability to summarize meaningful information from large data sets.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Excellent communicator.
- Analytical and organized with relentless attention to detail.
- Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
