POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating all maintenance activities including scope of work, safety considerations, materials, labor, time estimates and manage the maintenance work order system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan and coordinate maintenance projects using industry specific computerized maintenance software
- Generate Work Orders from Work Requests and enter into the CMMS Dynastar Maintenance System
- Maintenance scheduling for Millwrights, Electricians, Oiler and contractor resources to insure completion of PM’s
- Plan and schedule preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance. This includes working with the Training Assistant to assign tasks to insure apprenticeship participants receive appropriate training time in each of the program areas.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports
- Communicate and coordinate with the purchasing department for parts purchasing and inventory
- LEAN Management
- Schedule contractor resources
- Budgeting
- Work with Purchasing Coordinator on setting the min/max levels for critical parts
- Consistently work at acceptable production levels
- Other duties as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must understand and follow plant safety procedures.
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced computer skills in MS Excel.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable motor vehicle history for business travel in company vehicle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience using a Computerized Maintenance System (Dynastar) preferred.
- Ability to use and read blueprints and experience with AutoCAD.
- Sawmill manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous maintenance planning experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.
