Position Summary:
Plans and manages educational programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Plans, coordinates and manages the operations of the education office, which may include staff and equipment.
- Responsible for providing administrative and/or technical support in the development and evaluation of educational components, including but not limited to websites and grading systems.
- Assists course directors in the development of course syllabi and exams. Assists in the production of finished products, setting up and proctoring exams. Evaluates, modifies and updates testing procedures.
- May prepare, maintain, and monitor budget for Educational Programs Office, managing funds for equipment, training, office supplies, etc.
- Serves as liaison between faculty and administrative departments within the University to provide a smooth flow of information. Also liaison between faculty and students regarding grades and non-urgent issues.
- Identifies and alerts course directors and Chairman of possible course related issues to be resolved by faculty and/or department administration.
- May manage Human Resources activities for Educational Programs Office including recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations and salary planning.
- Manage administrative needs of student teaching assistants including personnel issues, payroll and coordination of duties.
- Assists faculty in the development of educational materials using PowerPoint and other software as well as training faculty on the use of the programs on a laptop.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
None.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years related experience in an educational setting with one year in a lead or supervisory role.
Experience in classroom teaching preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
