Job Summary

The Credit Analyst II will be part of a team that will assess prospective clients and will underwrite new Corporate Banking transactions in accordance with the Bank’s credit policy and established credit standards and guidelines. The Credit Analyst II will also be responsible for performing periodic reviews of Corporate Banking portfolio accounts, will monitor and track financial reporting requirements and covenant compliance, and will be asked to participate in special projects as needed.

Pay Range: $55,671 - $72,373 - $89,074

Job Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with a Portfolio Manager to assess, structure, underwrite and recommend new leveraged and non-leveraged Corporate Banking transactions to senior management and Credit Officers

  • Building and sensitizing financial projection models in Excel

  • Spreading and analyzing financial statements for prospects and existing clients; assessing existing clients’ compliance with financial covenants

  • Preparing periodic reviews (annual or more frequent) to monitor the credit quality of existing corporate banking portfolio accounts, with analysis of financial performance and covenant compliance, repayment sources, ability to service debt, identification of increasing/decreasing risk; and facilitating timely changes to risk ratings as needed

  • Assisting with analyzing and recommending proposed credit agreement amendments

  • Ordering due diligence reports (Environmental, Credit Reports, OFAC and Lexis Nexis) as needed

  • Monitoring and tracking financial reporting requirements

  • Assembling market/industry data into monthly reports for distribution to Credit Products Team colleagues

  • Special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Monitoring of Existing Corporate Banking Loans Examples of duties and responsibilities under this component include but are not limited to the following functions:

  • Prepare periodic reviews (annual or more frequent) of existing Corporate Banking relationships which include historical financial analysis and comparison to budget, review of covenant compliance, evaluation of repayment sources and ability to service debt

  • Assessment of client’s risks and mitigants; reevaluation of risk rating with timely recommendation of updates or downgrades. 

  • Assist Portfolio Manager with analysis and recommendation of amendment requests

  • Spread financial statements and identification of increasing or decreasing risk

  • Track the receipt of financial information (financial statements, financial covenants, budgets, etc.) and validate compliance with credit agreement requirements

  • Pull and review exception reports and work with the Portfolio Manager and Relationship Manager to clear exceptions

  • Assemble market/industry data into reports distributed to Credit Products Team colleagues

Underwriting New Corporate Banking Transactions Examples of duties and responsibilities under this component include but are not limited to the following functions:

  • Work with Portfolio Manager to assess, structure, underwrite and recommend new leveraged and non-leveraged Corporate Banking loans.  More specifically, the Credit Analyst II analyze the prospect’s historical financial performance, create financial projection models that illustrate prospect’s ability to service debt and remain compliant with financial covenants, identify risks and mitigants, assess industry and competitive environment, and recommend a risk rating. 

  • Order due diligence reports

  • Obtain market/industry data to compare against the prospect’s performance metrics/trends

  • Assist with KYC and other procedures required prior to closing/funding an approved transaction. 

Professional Development Examples of duties and responsibilities under this component include but are not limited to the following functions:

  • Attend routine meetings and training geared towards building a foundation of credit and financial statement analysis

  • Attend sales calls, due diligence calls, deal screen meetings and credit risk presentations in order to appreciate and understand the bank’s appetite for risk

Special Projects Examples of duties and responsibilities under this component include but are not limited to the following functions:

  • Assist peers in times of workload constraints and tight deadlines

  • Assist with weekly pipeline reports and other administrative/organizational tools

  • Other special projects as needed

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelors degree - Accounting or Finance Major Preferred

  • 1-2 years corporate banking credit analyst experince
