Here’s What You Need

Education

  • Require Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Public Health, Quantitative Analysis, or related discipline.
  • Prefer Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, or Health Administration.

Experience

  • Require 5 years of experience in manipulating large Relational Databases, Statistical Programming, and Development of Data Displays and Visualization.
  • Strongly prefer working knowledge of Database and Business Intelligence tools such as SQL, SAS, R, Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Require working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
  • Prefer working knowledge of Process Improvement Methods, Statistical Process Control Techniques and Database Applications. 
  • Prefer familiarity with Data Warehouse.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and analytical ability sufficient to evaluate data, make sound judgments and recommendations, and management of tough situations with emotional maturity.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, achieve tight deadlines and take initiative on multiple projects.
  • Ability to work well with management, physicians, and other professionals in a direct and positive manner.
  • Must be able to work with departments to design and document operational procedures to support transactions processing and compliance with established regulations.
  • Work requires recognition within the broader organization as a true expert in a given subject area.
  • Capable of providing guidance, troubleshooting, and answering questions related to this area of expertise by:

Demonstrating consistent excellence in applying this competency across multiple projects and/or organizations;

Creating new applications for and/or leading the development of reference and resource materials for this competency; and,

Diagramming or explaining the relevant process elements and issues in relation to organizational issues and trends in sufficient detail during discussions and presentations, to foster a greater understanding among internal and external colleagues and constituents.

  • Work requires significant technical skills that include:

(a) Master understanding of all core data sets;

(b) Demonstration as a team expert in SQL/SAS or other super-user analytical tools;

(c) Identifying alternate processes and potential solutions

(d) Anticipating cause and effect relationships

(e) Designing and implementing prescriptive/opportunity analysis techniques to create actionable insights from complex data sources.

  • Must be able to develop and execute on multiple, advanced project plans with realistic goals and timelines.
  • Must be able to design, develop, and implement analytic approaches to technical methodology.

What You Will Do

Position Responsibilities

Working with the Health System Quality Intelligence Manager, the Senior Health System Quality Intelligence Analyst will assist in analytics that serve to identify opportunities for SWHR's quality strategy and identify and implement data management initiatives to support integrity of reporting progress towards the strategy. They consistently complete assignments independently and may supervise, mentor and coach other analysts on the team

Position Functions

  • Collaborates on multi-disciplinary teams and provides analytical support for various projects related to quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes.
  • Designs, develops, and automates clinical quality and performance metrics. Maintains knowledge base of data requirements and measure definitions.
  • Interprets, explains, and discusses data analysis results with project team. Makes recommendations and support strategies for improving clinical processes and patient outcomes.
  • Analyzes and organizes data using the appropriate analytical and statistical methods, which includes:

a. Taking the information apart and exploring relationships--categorizing, examining, comparing/contrasting, and organizing the data;

b. Identifying how a system design accommodates business processes; and,

c. Maintaining the ability to self-inhibit competing behaviors.

  • Identifies extracts, validates and manipulates data from different large databases using data management and querying skills.
  • Develops and automates data displays such as charts and reporting tables to present data analysis results and track clinical processes and outcomes.
  • Consults on data collection and study design for clinical interventions.
  • Encourages high level commitment to the purpose and values of the organization.
  • Prepares and deliver business communications, including meeting agendas, presentations, business reports and project communications plans in order to effectively identify stakeholder needs/expectations.
  • Attends meetings with external stakeholders, primarily for the purposes of observation with minimal input.
  • Coaches and develops other team members, acting as a resource of knowledge and guidance. May supervise and ensure the quality of work performed by others.
  • Uses sound reasoning and logical thinking to effectively persuade.
  • Excels in critical problem solving and defining solutions.
  • Supports departmental decisions surrounding policy and procedures among staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
