Job Title: Electronics Bench Test Technician

Position Summary:
The Electronics Bench Test Technician is a full-time position that requires someone with the ability to assemble/disassemble and test electronic equipment and parts; to inspect, identify, troubleshoot, refurbish and/or repair electro-mechanical equipment. They will provide technical/operational support to the production cells as well as perform disassembly, cleaning, safety wiring and painting of aviation components. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Will report to cell leads for any technical issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately evaluates electronic products and equipment down to the board component level
- Examine a whole aviation product and isolate any problems
- Ability to troubleshoot electronics with or without schematics
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail when inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing units to ensure the work is accurate and complete
- Troubleshoot, collect, compile, and analyze information to develop recommendations
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer programs as well as the Internet and other basic database systems
- Perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
- Ensure that all maintenance documentation is completed legibly and correctly for all work performed.
- Ensure the proper tagging and identification of parts and components as delineated in the RSQC Manual.
- Observes all safety and security procedures.
- Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience of assembling/disassembling and testing electronic equipment and parts; to inspect, identify, troubleshoot, refurbish and/or repair electro-mechanical equipment
Education:
- Two-year technical degree preferred
- Highschool Diploma or GED required
Preferred Experience:
- Having a fundamental understanding of AC and DC circuits, and a strong background in digital electronics and microprocessors are essential
- Follow written procedures and processes but also have the ability to think quickly to answer questions and solve problems involving differing situations, requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned and unlearned alternatives
- Occasional analysis and independent judgment is required to determine appropriate courses of action
- Must have a technical aptitude, manual dexterity, willingness and ability to learn new electronic equipment and repair techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot to the board component level
- Experience with hand tools, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, generators, and soldering equipment required
- Ability to read engineering schematics & follow written instructions
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, vendors, and customers.
