Overview

Position Title: Ready Mix Equipment Operator

Reports to: Plant Manager

Pay Range: $19 - $22

 

Position Summary:
The Ready-Mix Plant Loader Operator is responsible for operating a front-end loader to load aggregate materials into the batching plant's hoppers, managing stockpiles, and ensuring the plant is operating efficiently. The operator will perform routine maintenance, ensure the cleanliness of the equipment and work area, and adhere to safety regulations.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Support a culture that promotes safety as a top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Operate various pieces of heavy equipment primarily front-end bucket high loader to load sand, gravel, and other aggregates into the batching plant.
  • Manage stockpiles and ensure that the correct materials are available for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around stockpiles and loading zones.
  • Ensure the loader is in good condition through regular checks and maintenance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the loader and other plant equipment.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections and report any issues to the maintenance team.
  • Communicate effectively with plant operators, drivers, and other team members.
  • Discuss anticipated production, type of materials being moved, number of trucks and daily deliveries of materials.
  • Report any operational issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school education or GED equivalent.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a ready-mix concrete or similar industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of material handling and loader operation.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and practices.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to clearly think no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
