External Description: Thank you for your interest in a position with the AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company (Equitable).

We are currently seeking a Financial Planning Analyst who will be c ontributing to the team that Supervises the financial planning process for IAR tools through collaboration with Advisors. Ensure quality of advice through collaboration with the advisor for utilizing all supported tools (both comprehensive, and goal/needs based). This support includes inbound and outbound call support, financial planning case design, and one-on-one consultations. Identify gaps in financial plans and assisting our Advisors in bridging the gap. Review plans for input errors and validates the reasonableness of the plan against client's asset goals and risk tolerance to develop strategic insights and recommendations on developments influencing AXA Advisors' life, annuity, and advisory business.

Responsibilities:

In this role, the Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for:

- The supervision of the financial planning process and ensuring the quality of advice for both fee and non-fee plans though collaboration with Advisors.

- Supporting Advisors through the financial planning process. This includes 800 phone support, financial planning case design, and one-on-one consultations.

- Review and approval of financial planning and investment advisory activities.

- Ensuring the Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs) are being followed and maintaining timely and accurate documentation of compliance with the WSPs.

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst should be able to:

- Research and resolve issues in a timely and quality manner, and escalate more complex issues to department leadership where and when appropriate

- Understand the process to approve Financial Plans in accordance with the WSPs of the team, as well as contribute to the continuous improvement of the process

- Provide subject matter expertise for training and development of Advisors, Financial Planning team employees and the Wealth Management department in general

- Conduct training for Advisors on the financial planning process and use of financial planning software tools via webinars or in-person as needed

- Understand and manage asset allocation model updates and associated risk tolerance questionnaires, as well as coordinating with Financial Planning software vendors

- Lead and/or participate in process improvement and technology projects as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

- Working knowledge of retail financial services industry as well as background in financial planning and/or advanced markets.

- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Project, eMoney, and NaviPlan.

- Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal

- Detail oriented.

- Commitment to learning and expanding knowledge of financial services.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 - 6 years relevant experience required in a financial services environment including planning, retirement & wealth management
  • FINRA Series 7, 24 & 66
  • Advanced designations preferred (e.g. CFP, CPA, JD or ChFC)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Accounting or Finance Degree preferred
  • Software vendor management experience a plus
