Job Expectations:

  • Safely operate material handling equipment as needed to physically place materials and/or supplies to be utilized at the appropriate production staging location throughout the shift as needed.
  • Operate stand-up fork lift or other material handling equipment to pull orders for customers, fill requests for production line issues, load and unload trucks, unload raw materials, finished goods, packaging items and load trucks for outbound shipments.
  • Perform necessary pre-shift inspections of material handling equipment, and escalate any operational safety issues to Supervisor.
  • Issue goods to the plant operations and return them according to established procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Visually inspect raw materials and/or packaging materials for lot code accuracy for the production schedule at the beginning of shift.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory in the warehouse management system for all goods and materials using scanning equipment to move products from one location to another.
  • Ensure goods are stored in the correct environment in terms of food safety and personnel safety.
  • Follow all customer requests and ensure those requests are carried out, ensuring finished goods are shipped accurately and in the time frame established by Customer Service.
  • Follow all raw material storage and handling procedures to ensure compliance to allergen guidelines.
  • Prevent any and all material from falling on the floor, wrapped and unwrapped.
  • Establish and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Quality Foods requirements as related to the handling of materials and finished goods.
  • Follow established procedures regarding accurate receipt of goods, storage and the shipment of goods; adhere to AIB distribution policies.
  • Assist with other distribution-related duties as directed by supervision or management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education equivalent to completion of High School
  • English speaking or bi-lingual
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image
  • 2 -- 5 years of shipping/receiving experience to include operating/maintaining material handling equipment and warehouse operations
  • Must have completed forklift certification/licensing training or have the ability to successfully acquire a valid license.
  • Must have a working knowledge of established food safety regulations and good manufacturing practices, shipping and receiving processes, effective inventory management, and the ability to differentiate product or materials lot codes and an ability to count carton and case quantities, or material usage requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel and working knowledge of common inventory management system software
  • Possess good mechanical aptitude, ability to perform mathematical calculations and complete detailed reports
