SUMMARY: Responsible for performing highly specialized, professional level, accounting duties according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and conducts comprehensive studies to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of a department or business unit/segment. Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of financial reports and data, and prepares summaries for management. Recommends cost improvement measures. Interprets data to determine past financial performance and/or to project financial probability. Reviews costs and performs cost/benefit analysis related to projects and/or programs. Develops financial reports to determine forecasts, trends and results. Assists in the development, enhancement and implementation of policies and procedures. Provides support for less experienced accounting personnel. Will assist with general ledger maintenance activities and account reconciliations. May assist with data management and reporting maintenance from various systems using Power BI. Tasks will include, but not limited to, union benefit payments, audits, and administration of Union contracts.
