Assistant Director of S.O.U.L. Mission - 250852 : Athletic Department : Oklahoma-Norman-Norman Campus : Full-time Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Mission stands for Serving Our Uncommon Legacy. Its purpose is to create transformational, holistic development in one of the most critical times of our student-athletes' lives. The Assistant Director of S.O.U.L. Mission will support both Men's Football student-athletes and their families through high-level communication, engagement, while also serving as a liaison to external departments. The Assistant Director will also provide administrative and operational support to the S.O.U.L. Mission Department, including but not limited to calendar management, event coordination, office maintenance, creative asset management, recruiting operations, and budget tracking.
Essential Functions:
- Student-Athlete Support
- Acts as the main point of contact with between football and Academics, On-Campus Housing, Compliance, Financial Services, Student-Athlete Experience, Sports Medicine, Parking Services, and PROS
- Ensures that student-athletes are properly informed and supported with financial aid, benefits, and stipends, facilitating communication with Financial Services to guarantee proper disbursement
- Supports student-athletes in maintaining accountability concerning their conduct, academic standing, and eligibility status, coordinating closely with these departments to address any issues or concerns that arise
- Provides support in the recruitment process, ensuring smooth transitions for new student-athletes by coordinating activities such as Initial Arrival, Welcome Day, and New Student Orientation
- Collaborates with coaches and recruitment teams to organize activities and events that ensure new recruits are successfully integrated into both the team and campus life
- Works in conjunction with the athletics academic department and compliance teams to monitor and resolve any financial holds on student-athletes' accounts
- Coordinates travel logistics for student-athletes, including booking transportation, accommodations, and meals, ensuring adherence to university and NCAA policies
- Player Family Relations
- Establishes and maintains communication channels with families of student-athletes, providing updates on their academic progress, conduct, and other matters of interest
- Serves as a resource for families by addressing concerns, answering questions, and facilitating connections with appropriate departments or personnel
- Manages and updates a comprehensive database that includes the contact information of student-athletes' family members, ensuring it is current and readily accessible for effective communication this includes privacy and confidentiality of data in compliance with relevant privacy regulations and university policies
- Plans and executes events and activities designed to foster engagement between student-athletes, their families, and the team
- Collaborates with both internal and external partners to organize and lead quarterly virtual meetings via Zoom for student-athlete families
- Provides guidance and resources to student-athletes who are transitioning out of the program, whether they are graduating, pursuing professional opportunities, or transferring to other institutions
- Administrative & Operational Support
- Collaborates with the Director and Senior Director to develop and implement programs that support the holistic development of student-athletes
- Takes responsibility for drafting event briefs, ensuring that all logistical, budgetary, and compliance aspects are clearly outlined and understood
- Tracks event budgets, review invoices for accuracy, and work with the compliance team to ensure that all events adhere to university and NCAA guidelines
- Lead What’s Good Wednesday and athlete birthday celebration programming
- Ensures the office environment is well-organized, stocked with necessary supplies, and functional to support the needs of the team and staff
- Maintains open lines of communication with coaching staff and support teams, providing regular updates on student-athletes’ progress, needs, and any new developments or concerns
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
--- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree AND:
- 2 years of related experience.

Departmental Preferences:
- Prior experience in collegiate athletics or related field
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and calendar software
- Adobe & Canvas capability desired
