This opportunity is open to applicants based in The Woodlands, TX, Lebanon, TN, and Camrose, AB

 

POSITION SUMMARY:     The Regional Procurement Manager will maintain oversight and drive optimization in all procurement activities within the Americas business units, and will align with business unit operations to ensure best practices are followed and company policies and procedures are adhered to.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:     

  • Oversight and coordination of purchases for operations at all operating sites (3+) within the Americas region
  • Evaluation & selection of suppliers per company policies with evaluation of alternative suppliers / offers
  • Optimize inventory levels across operating sites to meet annual business targets
  • Improve inventory utilization and reduce slow moving inventories across sites
  • Collaborate across sites and across regions to leverage low cost purchasing strategies
  • Ensure all ongoing service and purchase order contracts are reviewed/renegotiated at least annually
  • Approval of the purchase orders as per the limit set
  • Address areas of improvement and initiate corrective and preventive actions for purchasing throughout the region
  • Coordinate with Internal Auditors and ISO auditors to ensure full compliance per company policies and procedures
  • Review raw material and project requirements and secure pricing agreements for regional operating sites
  • Identifying and developing a reliable supplier base for cost effective and timely supplies
  • Review purchase (Management Information Systems) MIS Reports
  • Maintain smooth flow of materials for production with optimum inventory
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies to ensure adequate supply base to optimize costs and provide business continuity
  • Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management procedures
  • Represent companies in negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Price estimates to sales department / other departments to enable budgeting of project proposals
  • Identify need for resources and seek management approval
  • Coordination of contract manufacturing activities
  • Coordination of centralized procurement of major raw materials and capex
  • Review and identification of staff training needs
  • Appraisal of staff performance
  • Performs other duties/ projects as assigned or as required by the position

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/REPORTING: 

  • This position will report to the SVP Americas with a cross functional responsibility with various departments for supply planning, strategic sourcing, logistics, and possibly finance teams to effectively carry out all product forecasts and purchasing.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

      

EDUCATION:    

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering.  Certified Purchase Manager (C.P.M.) preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred

 

 

EXPERIENCE:  

  • 15+ years’ experience, preferably in a similar position in a manufacturing company
  • ERP experience
  • MS Office

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: This position supervises the Buyer and Material Analyst in Lebanon, TN and the Operations Manager and Senior Project Coordinator in Camrose, Alberta, Canada.

 

 

TRAVEL:  Intermittent, up to 25%

 

           

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:  Must be able to operate computer, telephone, photocopier, and other office equipment as the job requires.  

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Requires sitting, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 20 pounds. Requires manual agility sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

           

 

MENTAL DEMANDS:  Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.
