External Description: Equitable is growing its Audit function on our journey to becoming a standalone US company. We are seeking a leader for our IT Audit team who will thrive in a fast-changing environment involving one of the most complex product portfolios in the industry. This position reports directly to the Equitable's Chief Audit Executive (CAE) and is responsible for daily operations for the IT Audit function.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies a comprehensive understanding of internal audit processes to ensure effective execution of Equitables audit plan
  • Provide subject matter expertise on audits or advisory reviews related to the IT function
  • Effectively discusses processes, risk, controls, and conveys complex issues to Senior Management
  • Oversee fieldwork activities, including inquiry of clients, inspection of records and documents, observations, and re-performance of complex control procedures
  • Identify balanced and risk-based corrective actions and engage management for ownership and completion with a focus on risk prioritization
  • Incorporate data analytics to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audits
  • Reviews and finalizes audit reports to minimize Quality Assurance review notes
  • Keeps current on development of relevant industry and regulatory matters
  • Identifies innovative practices and procedures that result in entity-wide high performance through analysis and previous learnings
  • Ability to articulate vision for the team and engage employees by clearly defining their involvement
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various stakeholders to efficiently plan and complete appropriate plans


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12 years Audit experience with a focus on IT Audit
  • Bachelor's degree


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and application of IIA standards; Sarbanes-Oxley; risk management techniques and compliance requirements
  • Professional certification highly preferred (CPA, CIA, CISSP, CISA)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven experience successfully engaging and leading teams, both direct and indirect
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future audit needs of the department and organization
  • Willing to take ownership of each project and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve project success.
  • Strong aptitude for project management
