
Tax Operations Analyst
The Financing Solutions Tax team provides tax advisory, compliance, and support services across the FS global product suite to assist in meeting key business development, client management, and risk excellence objectives. It is comprised of a team of experienced tax professionals organized around two main functions: Tax Operations and Tax Advisory.
The Tax Operations Analyst is a key contributor to the FS Tax team and its overall tax compliance program. This role will be responsible for assisting in the completion of a number of critical compliance obligations, both regular and ad-hoc, including but not limited to, preparing and filing tax returns, calculating withholding tax and ensuring timely deposits, facilitating year-end tax reporting, and validating tax forms in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams to calculate and confirm withholding tax and deposit with applicable tax authorities. Perform reconciliation as necessary.
- Collect, review and validate tax documentation for new clients in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Solicit and obtain updated tax documentation and other information for clients
- Collect and validate data used for satisfaction of year-end tax reporting and tax filing requirements
- Assist in the preparation and filing of FS-related tax returns
- Manage stamp duty registration and semiannual filings, as needed
- Perform regular (daily/weekly/monthly) compliance tax reviews
- Review and approve/reject new client startups in accordance with product development and tax approvals. Research and answer client-related and counterparty-related tax inquiries
- Consult with other members of the FS Tax team to resolve tax queries
- Liaise with custody tax groups and other internal support teams to respond to queries from FS Operations, Trading and Relationship Management
- Collaborate and engage team members in collegial, respectful, and professional manner
- Drive continuous process improvement and innovation throughout the tax compliance function to improve scalability, efficiency, and automation, and reduce risk
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years U.S. regulatory tax experience
- MST/CPA (or current pursuit thereof) desired but not required
- Excellent risk management focus
- Experience with the MS Office suite (Excel, Access) required. Familiarity with tax preparation software (Convey) a plus
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Tax technology experience a plus
Salary Range:
$70,000 - $115,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
