What You’ll Get to Do

The Machine Operator is focused on Set up, run and shut down machine, change tools, calibrate machine, read work orders, document downtime and consistently hit production goals. Reports to the Production Supervisor.

 

This role is perfect for an individual who has Problem solving Skills, Attention to Detail and Strong communication.  A vital member of the Production Machine Operator Team, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Prepare cutting table for operation by vacuuming the table, changing the cutting wheel, selecting the glass cutting wheel specification according to recommended operating parameters, checking oil reservoir, positioning glass racks, confirming air blow functionality, and running test pieces 
  • Review work orders and load the proper data into the computer software connected to the cutting table 
  • Visually inspect each piece of glass to ensure dimensions are correct and there are no imperfections (chips, flakes, splinters, or slivers of glass along score line) 
  • Enter production for each work order into the computer system 
  • Adhere to cutting control plan , Obtain the correct glass from inventory

What We Are Looking For

  • Must have the ability to confidently use a computer to enter data and set up machine to cut and score the glass 
  • Must have strong attention to detail to ensure glass is cut and scored properly to match specified work orders
  • Must have one or more years of experience with machine operating 
  •  Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  •  Must have ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
