Your Opportunity:

We are looking for an engineer with experience in testing operating systems, backend systems, and other parts of cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing up cloud test environments and designing, executing, and automating test strategies to validate the Cloud Infrastructure. You will be working in a fast paced environment and your technical skill will be very critical in ensuring we build and deploy resilient, secure, performant and high-quality Cloud Infrastructure. 

Our Ideal Candidate

You are passionate about automation and quality. You know your way around a Unix/Linux filesystem pretty well and have a knack for breaking things and finding “good” bugs. You like coming up with ways to automate testing or anything else around it, especially an ever-changing cloud environment. You are able to make decisions with minimal supervision and have a learning mindset - continuously learning new things and you understand that making mistake means you are growing.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and execute test strategies for the Cloud Infrastructure
• Automate the testing and verification of the Cloud Infrastructure
• Create tools and processes for automation and verification of cloud deployment
• Create test plan and test strategy documents
• Progressively enhance continuous integration by adding test automation

Requirements:

• 4+ years of overall experience in testing and automation
• Motivated individual who has a knack for breaking things and finding "good" bugs.
• Passionate about automation and quality
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting skills
• Energetic self-starter who is proficient at self-learning new skills and tools
• Proficiency with AWS and/or other Cloud technologies
• Strong coding experience with at least 1 of the following procedural languages: Shell, Python, Ruby, or Perl
• Experience in preparing test environments in the cloud, configuring and installing Unix/Linux systems. Preferably Redhat based Linux systems.
• Experience with either back end server testing or system level testing (file systems, operating systems, databases, etc.)
• Strong automation experience with some QA testing framework like Python Tox and other QA tools like JMeter, REST API Testing, Selenium, etc.
• Understanding of Software Testing and the Software Development Lifecycle including
• Proficiency with configuration management tool such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible
• Great written and verbal communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with other organizations/teams

Nice to Have:

• Experience integrating QA automation with a CI system like Jenkins
• Proficiency with Azure/GCP is a huge plus.
• Proficiency with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, K8) is a huge plus.
• Experience with using Chef’s testing framework (Inspec, Kitchen, Serverspec)
• Scalability and performance testing
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
