About The Role
The Logistics Director oversees the strategic planning, execution, and continuous optimization of logistics and distribution processes across the Americas organization. This key leadership role ensures the efficiency of the company's logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory, distribution, and transportation management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong supply chain and logistics management background and have a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, implement new technologies, and drive continuous improvements in productivity and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to improve logistics operations' productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Align logistics processes with the organization’s overarching goals and objectives.
- Identify and implement new technologies and systems to streamline operations and increase overall efficiency.
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory, distribution, and transportation management – improving quality, service levels, cost and efficiency of the logistics network
- Collaborate with other department leaders to integrate logistics strategies with corporate objectives and processes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation, distribution, and safety standards regulations.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and auditing of logistics operations.
- Monitor logistics performance metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of logistics personnel.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to logistics teams, ensuring continuous skill development.
- Establish and maintain clear communication and collaboration between logistics staff and other departments
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
- A master's degree in a similar field is preferred, demonstrating advanced logistics and supply chain management expertise
- Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) are highly desirable and will enhance candidate qualifications.
- A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in logistics management – including several years in a leadership role.
- Strong, concise communication skills (written & verbal) with the ability to influence/persuade while working across various levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of successful logistics strategy implementation and operational optimization in a complex supply chain environment.
- Expertise in logistics management, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with new technologies and their application in logistics operations.
- Ability to manage budgets and optimize costs without compromising service quality.
- Proven track record in operating and collaborating in an international organization across functional and organizational boundaries
