UNFI is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector in Ridgefield, WA. In this role, you will Inspect all incoming shipments of cheese against good delivery guidelines. Inspect all on hand product to assure quality meets the highest standard. Verify all dated product to assure shipping date meets customer expectations.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 5am to 1:30pm (please note that if selected for this role, you will be required to travel to Sacramento, CA for a week long initial training.  We will cover the cost of travel expenses)

Job Responsibilities:

·       Receive weekly French Boat orders

·       Receive French Air Shipments

·       Take pictures of pallets at arrival to track possible shortages

·       Document issues identified at inspection process to Import Manager

·       Work closely with Import Buyer and communicate discrepancies

·       Monitor perishable cheese inventory

·       Items slotted correctly and rotated consistently

·       Highly perishable list of items that require weekly monitoring provided by Import Buyer

·       Document Warehouse procedures for receiving import products

·       Monitor inventory and customer returns for manufacturer defeats and determine if items are sellable and return into inventory

·       Verify quantities of product received against the purchase order

·       Track down missing products as directed by Cheese Category Management Team

·       Receive and track all samples

·       Received and replenish pick location or reserve of all outgoing product

·       Ensure that all labeling of product and pallets are accurate for put-away in proper pick slot or back stock location

·       Keep area clean and debris out of work area, ensuring a safe work environment

·       Track expiration dates

·       Performs other relevant job duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·       Able to operate or be trained and certified to operate lift equipment

·       Knowledge of RF Scanners

·       Good interpersonal and customer service skills

·       Good initiative and problem-solving skills

·       High level of accountability

·       Strong attention to detail

·       Solid ability in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Excel primarily

·       Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS: 

·       Ability to lift to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. 

·       Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation

·       Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures. 

·       Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. 

·       Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work related equipment

·       Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
