Expectations & Job Description: Tax Preparer 3 is a senior position that requires a high degree of expertise in individual income tax filing as well as skills to manage the office independently. Duties include preparing and filing Income taxes for customers that have situations of various degrees of complexity, working with the customers directly or with the help of junior tax preparers. You will manage a small team of tax preparers and office staff. You are expected to manage a full office during the designated schedule - this includes directing other tax preparers, directing customer service representatives attending to customer escalations if needed, and providing guidance and help to staff on complex tax matters.

Requirements:

- Should be either current CTEC registered, EA, or CPA with active license.
- Ability to pass a background check.

Technical Skills
Experience - 3+ years of Individual Income tax filing experience
Expert knowledge of most forms - Form 1040, Schedules A, B, C, D, and E, Form 1116, FINCEN 114, Forms 8938, Form 8621
Expert knowledge on most topics partnership income, Foreign income tax credits, Sale of property, taxable income due to different types of stocks like ESPP, ISO, NQO, RSU,
Working knowledge of using Zoom or Google Meet and computer software
Ability to conduct tax research and independently problem-solve tax issues.

Soft skills:
Communication Skills - Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
Sense of urgency, responsibility & accountability when working with customers
Ability to manage a team of 2-4 junior tax preparers
Ability to independently manage the office on a designated schedule
Ability to lead in tax-related webinars and presentations to customers
Analytics and Problem-solving skills
Can do attitude

Office Requirements:
Commute to Milpitas office ( this is not a remote position)
Availability 20+ hrs
Ability to navigate dynamic schedules during the tax season
