Position: Parts Manager
Salary: $94,000 - $130,000 (Based on education & experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Compliance: Lead safety initiatives, ensure compliance with all company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Budget & Expense Management: Develop and oversee the department’s budget, controlling expenses and optimizing financial performance.
  • Inventory Management: Supervise parts inventory, including new, exchange, and remanufactured components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to CAT standards.
  • Process Optimization: Implement and maintain CPS / 6S methodology to drive efficiency and operational improvements.
  • Vendor & Customer Relations: Maintain strong relationships with Caterpillar Inc., internal departments, and external clients to support business objectives.
  • Logistics & Freight: Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries for customer satisfaction.
  • Personnel Development: Hire, train, and manage parts staff, ensuring professional growth and alignment with company goals.
  • Customer Service: Handle escalated inquiries, resolve customer complaints, and enhance service strategies to improve client retention.
  • Sales & Support: Assist with sales, technical inquiries, and field consultations to promote parts and service solutions.
  • Training & Supervision: Ensure all staff receive proper training, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain compliance with safety and company policies.

Supervisory Scope:

  • Direct reports may include Warehouse Manager, Parts Coordinators, Counter Sales, Drivers, and other department personnel.
  • Manage work schedules, including weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; business coursework preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in a parts-related leadership role
    • 5+ years in administrative and customer service functions
    • 3+ years in sales and technical/mechanical support
    • 5+ years in supervisory/management positions
  • Legally Authorized to work in the US. 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical & Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of parts inventory and distribution.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel, Intermediate PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and DBS.
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written skills, problem-solving ability, and a customer-focused approach.

Physical & Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary with occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
  • Work Conditions: Moderate noise level; indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Travel: 1-25% as required for business needs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Pre-employment screenings, including background checks, drug/alcohol testing, and fit-for-duty assessments.
  • Job duties may evolve based on business needs.
