As the Design Lead for Battle.net Ecommerce across all player facing experiences, you will manage the design team and collaborate with product managers and engineers to create a seamless shopping experience for millions of gamers worldwide. Your job is to successfully help empower our players to quickly find and buy our games & products, download and play our games, and connect with our worldwide community.
The ideal candidate should thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-moving cross-functional environment, possess top-tier communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to demonstrate the value of design every day. Experience in identifying, researching, designing, and shipping features and products in the technology or gaming spaces is essential.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
Guide ecommerce designs to create extraordinary experiences while optimizing conversion through impactful player education, incentivization, and engagement
Manage a talented team of product designers – offering mentorship, career growth and guidance, as well as fostering a growth-oriented environment
Collaborate on large-scale design projects across multiple teams and stakeholders representing the voice of the player throughout the process
Use data, competitive analysis, research and appropriate testing methodologies to influence product direction and championing a premium player experience
Create design artifacts, including strategy decks, style guides, wireframes, insightful documentation of player states across both happy and unhappy paths, and demonstrating interaction through clickable prototypes
Provide clear design direction, encouragement, and actionable feedback to peers and team members
Consult with design leadership on best practices, emerging tech, overall strategy and ever improving standards
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years as user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar
2+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
Knowledge and experience in leading high-level product design strategy
Ability to thoughtfully provide tactical direction and guidance for quick turn arounds in a fast paced highly visible product area
Demonstrated track record in e-commerce, platform, or B2B/B2C arena
Lead and mentor designers, growing their mastery of the design craft and nurturing soft skills
A drive to successfully work within and influence cross-functional teams while advocating for the value and impact of design for all experiences big or small
Experience designing cross-platform solutions that are highly usable, accessible, and delightful
Experience working within Agile/Kanban development teams and using JIRA
Special Sauce – not required but adds flavor
Passion for games, with a pulse of the gaming market
A love of Figma and design documentation
Experience or high interest in contributing to an evolving design system where you can help shape the content and direction

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
