McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases in Harris County. 

Position Key Accountabilities:

The Assistant Professor will be primarily responsible for consultation services for inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases at clinics in affiliated hospitals under the Division of Infectious Diseases at UTHealth Houston.

  • Teach medical students, internal medicine residents, and/or infectious diseases fellows. 
  • Provide services at Thomas Street Health Center, an outpatient clinic for people living with HIV, and support an OPAT program in an affiliated hospital.
  • Collaborate to maintain a focus on providing excellent clinical services.
  • Travel to affiliated employer hospitals and clinics in Harris County.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or equivalent.
  • Texas Medical License or eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. 
  • American Board certifications in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases or eligible to obtain.
  • Three (3) years of residency training in Internal Medicine.
  • Two (2) years of Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases.
